Which OKX trades don't earn a fee rebate?

What OKX's affiliate rules exclude

OKX's "What's OKX Affiliate Program?" (updated September 2026) describes the commission as "a direct rebate (return) of the trading fees your invitees pay" across Spot, Futures, Options and CeDeFi trading, where available. It then lists the cases where no commission is paid:

1. The crypto traded incurs no fee.
2. Fees are offset with rebate cards, futures credits, contract vouchers and similar.
3. The trader has a special fee rate.
4. The trader is a market maker or broker.
5. VIP5 or VIP6 once the monthly commission cap has been reached.
6. VIP7 or above — commission doesn't apply at all.

A rebate service pays you out of the affiliate or IB commission the exchange pays its partner. When OKX pays no commission on a trade, there is nothing behind it for a rebate to return (what a fee rebate is).

Why each one returns nothing

• Zero-fee trading. A promotional fee rate of zero means the fill pays no fee, so there is no commission to share. Every fill at a normal rate keeps earning the rebate (the MEXC zero-fee example works the same way).
• Vouchers and futures credits. The fee is covered by the exchange's own credit rather than your money, so it isn't counted as a paid fee (fee vouchers vs a rebate service · futures bonuses and rebates).
• Special fee rates. An account given a rate outside the standard schedule earns no commission under the rules, even though it still pays fees.
• Market makers and brokers. OKX excludes these account types from affiliate commission outright.
• The top of the VIP program. At VIP5 and VIP6 commission stops for the month once the cap is reached; from VIP7 it isn't paid. Below those tiers a rebate keeps working at every level (fee rebates at VIP tiers).

What isn't a trade at all

Some costs never enter the picture because they aren't trading fees. OKX charges no deposit fee for crypto ("You don't need to pay any fees when depositing crypto into your OKX account"), a withdrawal pays a network fee, and funding is exchanged between long and short holders. None of these generates trading commission, so none of them is part of a rebate (deposit, withdrawal and gas fees vs a rebate · what a funding fee is).

How to check your own trades

1. Open your OKX trade history and note the fee on each fill (where to see the fees you paid).
2. Mark the fills that paid nothing or were paid with a voucher or credit — those won't appear in the rebate.
3. Compare the rest with your rebate history for the same days. If paid fees are missing, work through why a rebate hasn't arrived.
4. If your fee tier recently moved to VIP5 or above, or OKX offered you a special rate, ask the rebate service whether your account is still covered.

Rebates on the trades that do count

For ordinary fills at your tier's rate, the rebate is a share of the fee you paid — 50% of each OKX trading fee comes back to you.
