OKX restricted countries: where OKX is not available
OKX's Risk & Compliance Disclosure names these restricted locations: Afghanistan, Canada, Cuba, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, North Korea, Syria and Uzbekistan, the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, certain jurisdictions within the United States, and all US territories. In seven more countries OKX only limits some services: derivatives in Australia, Brazil, South Korea and the UK, P2P in Brazil, Eritrea, South Korea and the UK, fiat payments in Russia, CeFi services in Australia and the UK, and retail products in the Bahamas. If you live in a restricted location, don't use OKX.

- Asia: Afghanistan, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, North Korea, Syria, Uzbekistan.
- Americas: Canada, Cuba, certain jurisdictions within the United States, and all US territories: Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and the US Virgin Islands.
- Europe: the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. The rest of Ukraine is not on the list.
OKX says services "may be restricted or prohibited" in these locations and that the list reflects the situation "at this time", so it can change.
Partial restrictions (some services only)
- Australia: derivatives and CeFi-related services
- Bahamas: retail products
- Brazil: derivatives and P2P
- Eritrea: P2P
- Russia: fiat payment services
- South Korea: derivatives and P2P
- United Kingdom: derivatives, CeFi-related services and P2P
In these countries an account isn't banned outright, but the listed products may be unavailable. That matters for fee payback too: payback only accrues on fees you actually pay, so where futures aren't open to you, there is no futures fee to get back.
If you live in a restricted location
- Don't register or trade on OKX. Using an exchange from a place its terms exclude is a breach of those terms, and the account can be restricted or closed, including while funds are on it.
- Don't try to get around the restriction. Hiding where you are doesn't change which terms apply to you. Pick a service that is permitted where you live.
- In a partially restricted country, use only the products OKX offers you there.
How loweef applies this list
loweef follows OKX's list of restricted locations: an OKX UID can't be linked to loweef from one of those countries, whether that is the country you declare or the one you connect from. loweef treats the whole United States as excluded. The three Ukrainian regions can't be separated from the rest of Ukraine by country code, so for them it is up to you to follow OKX's terms. Partial restrictions don't block linking.
If OKX is available where you live, the OKX sign-up guide shows how to open an account with loweef's code, which returns 50% of the trading fees you pay. Figures are estimates based on published rates, and rates can change prospectively.
Frequently asked questions
Is OKX available in the UK?
Partly. The UK is not on OKX's list of restricted locations, but OKX may restrict derivatives, CeFi-related services and P2P there.
Can I use OKX in India or Japan?
No. India and Japan are both on OKX's list of restricted locations.
Is OKX available in the United States?
OKX lists certain jurisdictions within the United States and all US territories as restricted. loweef does not link OKX accounts from anywhere in the United States.
Can I keep using OKX from a restricted country if I connect from somewhere else?
No. Masking your location to reach an exchange that excludes your country breaches its terms and puts the account at risk of being restricted. Use a service that is permitted where you live.
