What fees do pre-market futures charge?

The trading fee itself is usually the normal futures fee. MEXC says pre-market perpetual contract fees are the same as formal perpetual contracts, and that these contracts belong to USDT-M perpetuals and gradually transition to formal perpetuals after the token launches. The extra costs come from elsewhere: funding that MEXC warns can swing sharply, wide spreads and slippage in a thin market, and — where pre-market futures are delivered rather than converted, as in OKX's delivery notices — a settlement fee stated in the delivery announcement.

Two kinds of pre-market futures

  • Pre-market perpetuals (MEXC): MEXC's Learn article (September 2026) describes them as USDT-M perpetual contracts for tokens that haven't launched yet, which gradually transition to formal perpetual contracts after the launch. It states: "Pre-market perpetual contract fees are the same as formal perpetual contracts."
  • Pre-market futures that are delivered (OKX): OKX's notice on delivering SCR pre-market futures (October 2024) settled positions at the average OKX index price over the hour before delivery, stated a settlement fee "subject to adjustment as announced", and restricted transfers out of the trading account for 30 minutes after delivery for larger positions. See expiry futures delivery fees for how delivery works.

Which type you hold decides whether there is a delivery charge at all, so read the contract announcement before trading.

Where the real costs are

  1. Trading fees on each fill — notional value × your maker or taker rate, at the open and the close (how futures fees are calculated). MEXC's standard futures taker rate is 0.04%; a pre-market pair can be placed in or out of fee promotions, so check the rate on the order page.
  2. Funding. MEXC warns that on pre-market perpetuals "the funding rate may fluctuate greatly and offset your profits" (what a funding fee is).
  3. Spread and slippage. MEXC notes that reduced liquidity leads to wider bid-ask spreads and worse slippage, which can cost more than the fee (slippage vs trading fee).
  4. Delivery (delivered pre-market futures only) — the settlement fee in the delivery notice.

MEXC also says it may adjust pre-market contract parameters such as maximum leverage, margin and funding rate limits, and that the price may deviate from the token's eventual listing price. The forced-liquidation risk is high; a liquidation adds its own charge (liquidation fee).

Pre-market futures and fee rebates

Because pre-market perpetuals are charged the same trading fees as formal perpetuals, those fees are trading commission like any other futures fill. Whether a pair inside a zero-fee promotion generates anything is a separate question — with no fee there is nothing to rebate (MEXC zero-fee pairs and rebates). A delivery settlement fee is not described as trading commission in OKX's notice, so don't count on it for a rebate. Current figures on loweef's partner exchanges:

Exchange Total rate Welcome boost Effective taker
AlphaX 65% — 0.0175%
BingX 60% 70% 0.0200%
OKX 50% 60% 0.0250%
MEXC 55% 65% 0.0180%

Figures are estimates based on published fee schedules. Pre-market trading is high-risk; contract terms are set per token by each exchange.

Frequently asked questions

Are pre-market futures fees higher than normal futures?

Not the trading fee on MEXC: it says pre-market perpetual contract fees are the same as formal perpetual contracts. The extra cost tends to come from volatile funding, wide spreads and slippage.

What happens to a pre-market perpetual when the token lists?

MEXC says pre-market perpetuals belong to USDT-M perpetual contracts and gradually transition to formal perpetual contracts after the token is officially launched.

Is there a fee when pre-market futures are delivered?

For pre-market futures that are delivered, yes — OKX's delivery notice states a settlement fee for the contract, subject to adjustment as announced.
