VIP level

A VIP level is an exchange's named status tier for high-volume traders, granting reduced fees and sometimes extra perks. Requirements are usually 30-day volume, asset balance, or both.

VIP levels are the branded version of fee tiers. Where a basic schedule might list "Tier 1–9", exchanges often present the same ladder as VIP 1 through VIP 9, occasionally attaching non-fee perks: higher withdrawal limits, dedicated support, early product access, or bespoke rate negotiation at the top levels.

Qualification is checked on a rolling basis — most commonly your last 30 days of trading volume, sometimes combined with a minimum balance held on the exchange. Falling below the threshold demotes you at the next evaluation, so VIP savings are conditional on sustained activity.

The practical question is whether chasing a VIP level is worth trading more than you otherwise would. Overtrading to keep a discount usually costs more in fees and risk than the discount saves. A fee payback has no such threshold: it applies from your first trade at the same rate, which is why it complements rather than replaces VIP pricing.
